About
Melanie Siciak has always had a love for the natural world around her. Growing up gardening with her grandmother and her astute observations of all creatures great and small set her on course to fulfill her dreams working outdoors. Melanie graduated from The University of New Hampshire in 2011 with a bachelor of science in Horticulture Technology. She has a wide range of experiences under her belt, all of which have helped hone her skills as a professional gardener. She interned with the National Park Service to learn the techniques and maintenance of formal gardens. She assisted with habitat restoration for the Department of Conservation in the Adirondacks on overused backcountry campsites. She worked as an assistant farm manager on a flower and herb farm where she learned about greenhouse production and cut-flower farming techniques. Melanie has also worked for skilled and knowledgeable landscaping companies over the years, gaining experience of the plant world along the way. When she isn't busy playing in the dirt, Melanie enjoys a day at the beach with her family and a good book or hiking in the White Mountains with her husband Jarred.
